In WordPress 2.9, a new feature was introduced which allows you to set the thumbnail for your post or page. I have just added this feature to Moderno v1.0.2 and will include it on all other Premium themes very shortly.
Here is a little video explaining how it all works:
Regenerate Thumbnails Plugin: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/
This feature has been added to the latest versions of Magazine Basic, Magazine Premium, Moderno, Snowblind and Feed Me, Seymour.
NOTE: In WordPress 3.0, it is called the Featured Image and not the Post Thumbnail.
Hi, I've got 3 questions in one related to this...
1. I'm using MP... and for the 2nd time in the past 6 months I've had something bizarre happen. All my MP settings seemed to just reset to their default settings randomly. I'm not sure how or why this happened -- do you know how this could be? After the first incident I decided to take screenshots of all my settings so I could "recover" quicker... but still, I'd be curious to know if there's a way to prevent this from happening again.
2. When the theme reset to the default MP settings, on both incidents I lost all my thumbnails -- they show up as blank "?" now. Here's an example: http://dailytradealert.com/category/income-ideas/
The thumbnail you see at the top appears now because I manually inserted the image again and specifically set the image as "thumbnail." I've never had to do this before to get the thumbnail to appear -- whenever I inserted an image into a post, the first image would just automatically appear as the thumbnail, which was great.
What I figured was that when the theme setting reset, so did my thumbnail settings... so I thought I'd need to regenerate them.
I tried the "regenerate thumbnail" plugin and all 551 of my images showed "failed." I then upgraded to the latest version of Wordpress and re-ran "regenerate thumbnail" and it says it worked. However, I figured that by "working" the thumbnails would appear again, but they didn't (as you can see at that URL above, they are still missing).
The only way I know of now to get the thumbnails appear is to manually set all 500-plus "featured images" in my posts. Is there any way you know of to do this automatically? Basically, I'd like the thumbnails to be the first image in my post, like how it worked before my settings reset yesterday and before upgrading to the latest version of WP.
3. Last, after upgrading to the latest version of WP just now, when I try to go into any of the MP settings (Layout Options, Design Options, etc) I get this error: "You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page." Do you know how I can have permission again? I was logged in with my admin user name and password.
Thanks!
Greg Patrick

1. I have not experienced this in any of my testing so it might be caused by a plugin, your WordPress install or your server. If a plugin is conflicting with the theme it might have some strange effects. If you WP install is broken, this might cause the issue. If your server has updated or changed something it could affect your site or database.
2. This sounds like something is going on with your database. You might need to optimize your database or inquire with your server about what might be going on.
