Different sticky posts for each frontpage columns

I went ahead and read all the support discussions for stickies, but I still have one more question. When I set a post to be a sticky in MagPr, it appears on the top of both the left and right columns.

What I'd like to do is use the left column to display recent posts (no stickies), and use the right side to display a sticky or two on top, followed by what starts to spill over from the bottom of the left column.

So, right now I have my left col set to display 4 posts, then the right col has an offset of 4, so the 5th post will show over there. Also, I have categories set to All for both columns.

Is there a way to separately control stickies for each of the columns?

Not really since each column is set to display all posts. You can use the offset to make sure no posts are duplicated but the sticky posts will always display in both unless you set each column to a different category.

    Thanks for your answer.
Is there a not-too-messy way I can add/edit some code in the back end to make it behave the way I described? I'm ok with html & css, but pretty new to php. If so, can you point out where this would take place? Of course, I'd do this in the child theme :-)

Actually, I found some wordpress articles about stickies so I'll go through them first before I plead for help.

    Got it figured out!
