There are two places that you can officially get one of our themes. The first is from the WordPress.org theme directory. The other is from Themes by bavotasan.com in the Themers Only section. If you have downloaded one of our themes from another site, I really recommend deleting it and getting an official version from one of the two places mentioned above.
The .zip file
Once you have downloaded the theme, you should have a .zip file located somewhere on your computer, most likely on your desktop. If your system automatically unzips the folder, just zip it again because you will need the .zip to upload it to WordPress.
Developer License
If you have purchased a Developer License, the file you downloaded must be unzipped and the theme file within must be uploaded to WordPress. Developer License files contain the theme plus the original PSD/AI design files. Attempting to upload the original .zip file to WordPress will result in an error or a broken theme.
Installing a Theme with WordPress
If you are attempting to upload a theme through WordPress, you can do so by going to the Appearance panel in your wp-admin and clicking on the Install Themes tab (figure 1.0).

With the theme’s .zip file currently on your computer, all you have to do is click on the Upload link near the top of the Install Themes page and browse for the file. Select the file and then click the Install Now button. The theme will now install itself in the appropriate place.
You can also search WordPress.org’s Free Themes Directory through the Install Themes page and install a theme directly. This will only work for themes that are hosted on WordPress.org.
Upgrading a Premium Theme
To upgrade a Premium theme, you must first delete the old one by going to the Appearance panel and clicking on the Themes link. If you currently have the theme you wish to delete activated, you will not be able to delete it until you activate a different theme. Once the old version of the theme is deleted, you can follow the instructions above to install the new version.
